Today I went to Trillium Park Firepit for a "December dip" (swim) today and I heard screams and rushed to the sound source to find a coyote attacking someone about 80m South of the Firepit.
A group of six of us arrived to assist the victim.
Luckily I had a first aid kit and was able to render first aid to both legs, both of which had bite marks and bleeding.
The coyote ran off toward the Walter Kehm Swimdock at the entrance to Trillium Park.
Three of us accompanied the victim to the intersection of Strachan Ave & Lake Shore Blvd W to be picked up and taken to hospital for treatment.
This year the displaced wildlife appears to be angry compared to last year.
The foxes or coyotes of similar appearance seemed much more content last year. Here are some pictures from last year playing with Olivia Chow's granddaughters who chased the foxes and coyotes and asked if they could bring one home as a pet. While being interviewed by filmmaker Ali Weinstein, the granddaughters asked us what would happen if all the trees in the forest were chopped down and the animals had no home.
Two months ago all the trees were chopped down and the entire forest was cleared.
Perhaps today we got our answer to the grandchildrens' question.
